What Cannot Be Contained

What Cannot Be Contained examines the tension that arises between the desire to enclose something and the desire that keeps seeping out. The glass sphere symbolizes an attempt to confine one’s desires within a transparent wall and bring them under control, yet glass can never become a perfect boundary. Light leaking through tiny gaps is the trace left by suppressed desire, and in itself reveals another form that desire takes. This work visualizes the fracture between the will to control desire and the true feelings that continue to overflow despite it.
가두지 못한 것
작품은 감싸고 싶은 욕망'과 '새어나오는 욕망' 사이에서 발생하는 긴장을 다룬다. 유리 구는 인간이 자신의 욕망을 투명한 벽 안에 가두고 통제하려는 태도를 상징하지만, 유리는 결코 완전한 경계가 될 수 없다. 미세한 틈을 통해 스며 나오는 빛은 억눌린 욕망이 남긴 흔적이며, 그 자체로 욕망의 또 다른 형태를 드러낸다. 본 작업은 욕망을 통제하려는 의지와 그럼에도 흘러나오는 진짜 마음 사이의 균열을 시각화한다.
